I am taking delivery this week of a TC35D, 4wd, R4s, and loader w/72" bucket. After talking with serveral dealers, the best price I could obtain is $19,000 at Dallas Ford New Holland. This appears to be an excellent price, especially since other posts on the TC33D indicate that others are paying $18,500 for similiarly equipped tractors.

Scott, that is an excellent price from what I have been able to research. I ended up with the same deal except I got turfs. Total price was 18,737. Considering that I will be doing my own pickup and delivery I would say that the numbers are about equal. ....

Sorry, not the same Scott Murray that does the sports. He probably doesn't have time for a tractor. The dealer called this morning and said they will need to order the tractor from the factory in Georgia. They said it should be here by the end of next week. Has anyone done much digging with this tractor? Is it capable of digging a small stock tank? The dealer said I would need a more heavy duty construction type tractor that has teeth on the loader bucket. ....

Scott, it IS possible, but NOT probable. Compact tractors do not dig well with a front end loader. When you stick it into the ground, you'll just do a lot of wheel spinning in all probability. You'll probably be a lot happier hiring someone with a dozer, or if you know how to operate one, you can rent one. But if you really want to try to do it yourself with a compact tractor, and have LOTS of time, you need to get a box blade and the heavier the better. ....

As for digging with the Boomer - It all depends on the soil. Just for the fun of it (and to see if I could do it), I dug a hole in my garden last fall, that with my TC-29D in the hole I had to climb UP to get out of the hole! It blew my mind. I didn't really expect it to dig such a hole. I had to use FWD & low range, (w/R4's) but it did it!

Hey Donald I thought I was the only one crazy enough to dig a hole for my boomer. I made the front of the hole to steep, and almost couldn't get out! I guess it took me about 6 hours to dig my hole. It was 3' deep, as wide as my boomer & a little longer. I took pictures but don't have a scanner.

Hello Scott, I too took delivery of a tc35d r4s and the 16LA last week. I paid 18,875 here in NC and that was with the tires loaded and a front brush guard installed. I've used it to pull up a couple of 6" stumps just to compare to my b2400. It's been too wet here to get it out much. As far as digging holes, I've dug several holes with the b2400hsd I used to have. We had a 3/4ac pond dug-out a few years ago and I wasn't satisfied with how part of the bottom was contoured so I took my b2400 down into the dry hole and dug out a ~10'x10' hole to about 6' deep in about 2 hours and that included taking the dirt out of the pond to another location. The key I found is making it so that you can back ouot of the hole once you've loaded the bucket. This means not making the initial grade too steep. You can alway's come back and dig that out later. I'd say my slope was ~30deg so I started out diging before the 10' area I wanted dug out.
Another time I dug out a gum tree and went down 4' just in a matter of 3-4'. Much steeper but I wasn't taking out as big of loads of dirt on this project.
A toothbar would really have helped.
I would think I could dig to China with this tc35 now!
